Cryptiquad
Original by Fender Tucker
Here's how it works. On each
level you are looking to find
four words. Cryptic clues to the
words are given at the bottom of
the screen, but you can solve the
puzzles even if you ignore the
clues.
The words on the first level are
four letters long; on the second
they are six letters long; on the
third, eight; and on the fourth, ten.
Yes, the higher levels are pretty
tough. Level one is easy.
The words have been divided into
two letter tiles which are shuffled
and displayed in
the grid in the upper left.
~
Here's a sample level one puzzle:
DI SK
AL IT
Word #1 is DISK. Word #2 is DIAL.
Word #3 is ALIT. Word #4 is SKIT.
~
A level two grid might be:
BR AN CH
OK OO
EN CA SE
where the words are (1) BRANCH, (2)
BROKEN, (3) ENCASE and (4) CHOOSE.
~
It is possible to solve a puzzle simply
by shuffling the tiles in the grid,
but the cryptic clues can really help.
You pick up a tile by moving the cursor
over it by using the arrow keys or the
A,Z and arrows or the 8,4,6,2 keys and then
pressing RETURN or SPACE. Press RETURN or
SPACE to exchange it with another piece.
If you need help on how to solve a
cryptic clue, by all means read the
appropriate help section!
